Dexter Cattle
Tami, with her family alongside and supporting, began raising Dexters in the summer of 2017 - after she got her first 2 steers, she was hooked and there was no going back! One of the things she loves about Dexters is the high production they give. Pound for pound, the usable beef of a Dexter is better than the larger breeds! Their size is more convenient for housing and pasturing, making the upkeep more practical. The temperament of the Dexters is very docile and sweet, making them fun for the whole family!
Meet Tami, the brain behind the Beef
The Dexter herd is Tami's pride and joy. After growing up on the family farm, Tami has always loved and wanted to preserve this lifestyle. She grew up raising mostly smaller livestock (Meat goats, dairy goats, the odd cow, chickens, etc.) and has had the desire for a more self sustainable animal for years. Tami decided to do her research on cows and settled on the Dexter breed - best choice she could have made! She plans breedings, pursues growth and expansion arrangements, settles purchases and sales, and oversees the daily management of the Dexters. If there's anything happening with the herd, it's Tami driving, planning, and controlling the decisions.

The Life of Riley Ranch is located in the Flathead valley of Northwest Montana. We have a love for each other and a love for farming that makes this lifestyle the absolute best! God has provided and blessed us in many ways, and we are honored to get to share our home and our story.
